In cinematic filmmaking, light is story. When concepting the launch film for Kinetica Motors, we needed to capture extreme contrast ratios — from neon-lit urban tunnels to bright high-noon automotive test tracks.
1. The 17 Stops of Dynamic Range
The ARRI Alexa 35 introduces 17 stops of dynamic range, allowing us to expose for deep specular highlights on polished carbon fiber without blowing out the sky or losing shadow detail in engine bays.
“Organic highlight roll-off cannot be faked in post. The way the Alexa sensor handles hard specular highlights creates a cinematic texture that connects emotionally.”
2. Anamorphic Lens Pairing & Color Grading
We paired the sensor with vintage ARRI Master Anamorphic prime lenses, producing warm oval bokeh and natural lens flares that gave the hypercar film an authentic human touch.
